Darty ("we", "our", or "us") provides a darts scoring and statistics application. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.
1. Overview
Darty is designed to work primarily offline and does not require you to create an account or sign in. All game data, statistics, and user profiles are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud database or store your personal information on our servers.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Game Data (Stored Locally Only)
The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Player names and profiles
- Game scores and statistics
- Tournament results and history
- Custom game settings and preferences
- Achievement progress

Deletion: Delete the app or use "Reset Everything" in App Settings
2.2 Crash Reports & Diagnostics
We use Sentry (a third-party service) to collect crash reports and diagnostic data when the app encounters errors. This helps us identify and fix bugs.
What We Collect:
- Crash logs and stack traces (technical error details)
- Device information: model, operating system version, screen resolution
- App version and build number
- Breadcrumb data: sequence of user actions leading to a crash (e.g., "navigated to Stats screen → clicked Tournament → crash")
- Performance data: screen load times, frame rates, slow operations
What We DO NOT Collect:
- Your name, email, or any personally identifying information
- Your game data, scores, or statistics
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, or other personal files
Purpose: Fix bugs, improve app stability, and enhance performance

Important: Crash data is not linked to your identity. We cannot identify who experienced a crash, only what went wrong technically.
2.3 Installation ID
We collect a unique installation identifier to deliver app updates:
- Purpose: Track app installations for over-the-air updates (via Expo)
- Usage: Deliver bug fixes and feature updates without requiring App Store downloads
- Data Type: Anonymous installation ID (not linked to your identity)
2.4 Technical Data for App Functionality
We collect minimal technical data required for the app to function:
- Device model and operating system version (for compatibility testing)
- App version (to ensure you receive appropriate updates)
- Timezone (for accurate timestamp display in game history)
Purpose: Ensure app compatibility and deliver updates

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Important: Analytics data is not linked to your identity. We see aggregate metrics like "500 users opened the app today" but cannot identify individual users.
3.4 Google Play Services
- Purpose: Core Android functionality, app distribution, and in-app billing
- Data Collected: Device information, app usage data (managed by Google)

- Business Transfers: If Darty is acquired or merged, your data may transfer to the new owner (you will be notified)
6. Data Retention & Deletion
6.1 Local Game Data
- Retention: Stored on your device indefinitely until you delete it
- Deletion Options:
- Uninstall the app → All data is permanently deleted
- App Settings → Reset Everything → Clears all local data without uninstalling
- App Settings → Clear Stats → Deletes game history while keeping player profiles
6.2 Crash Reports (Sentry)
- Retention: 90 days, then automatically deleted

6.3 Analytics Data (EAS Insights)
- Retention: Retained as long as your app is active, aggregated data only
- Deletion: Contact us at danrush730@gmail.com to request deletion
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data (see Section 6)
- Objection: Object to certain data processing activities
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format (for locally stored data, export from App Settings)

8. International Data Transfers
Darty is developed and operated in the United Kingdom.
While we are based in the UK, the third-party service providers we use (such as Sentry and Expo) may process technical data in their respective global data centers to provide crash reporting and update services. These providers operate under their own privacy policies and international data transfer frameworks.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- Local game data is stored securely on your device using Android's app sandboxing
- Data transmitted to third-party services (Sentry, Expo, EAS Insights) is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- We use industry-standard security practices for all integrations
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top will change
- We will notify you via an in-app notice or update notes
- Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy
