Darty ("we", "our" or "us") is a darts scoring and statistics app, developed and operated in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what data Darty collects, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.
Whether or not you have an account, Darty stores these on your device:
Without an account, none of this leaves your device. With an account, see Section 2 for what is copied to our servers.
Deletion: uninstall the app, or use Settings → Data Management to reset your stats.
Signing in is optional. It turns on stats backups and the social features. If you sign in, we store the following on our servers, provided by Supabase in the EU (Ireland).
You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google. We receive a unique account identifier and, from the provider, your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address instead) and your name if you choose to share it. We use your email only to run your account. It is never shown to other players.
Your username, display name, nationality and avatar (its settings, and a link to its image). Your profile is visible to other signed-in players, who can find you by searching for your username, unless one of you has blocked the other.
A compressed copy of the stats database on your phone (matches, legs, dart sets, tournaments, career and settings), so a new phone can restore it. Checkout photos are not included. Only you can access your backup. We keep one copy, replaced each time you back up.
For each match, a summary: when it was played, the game mode and format, the score, averages, darts thrown, best checkout, fastest leg, how your visits were scored, the venue, the name of your dart set, your opponent's name and the title of the match. For a real opponent (someone you entered as a local player) we upload their first name only. When you first sign in, your earlier matches are uploaded too, but your friends are not notified about them.
Shared matches are visible to you and your accepted friends. You can make any match private from its summary, so only you see it.
Your friend requests and friends; the kudos and comments you give and receive; the players you block; and any reports you make about content or players. Kudos and comments are visible to anyone who can see the match they are on.
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device and your notification settings, and keep a record of the notifications we send you (for example, "Dave gave you kudos"). Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging, and may include the avatar image of the player they are about.
In Settings → Stay in the loop you can give us an email address so we can reply to your feedback or tell you about major updates. This is separate from your account. It is stored with our analytics provider, PostHog (EU), against your app installation, and you can remove it at any time from the same screen.

Each provider processes data only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy policy. Where data is processed outside the UK, it is protected by the providers' international data transfer safeguards.

We access account data only to run the service, deal with reports, or where the law requires it.
Comments, match titles, usernames and display names are visible to other players. We filter objectionable words, you can report comments and players from the app, and you can block anyone. We review reports and remove content or accounts that break our Terms of Service.
Darty can be used by anyone without an account. You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you believe a child under 13 has created one, contact us and we will delete it.
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app (see Section 7). For anything else, email danrush730@gmail.com. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
We rely on these lawful bases: providing the service you ask for (your account, backups and social features); our legitimate interests in keeping the app working and improving it (crash reports and analytics); and your consent (optional email, and push notifications).
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Account data is held by Supabase, where access rules ensure players can read only what this policy allows, and data is encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
We may update this policy. The "Last Updated" date will change, and for significant changes we will let you know in the app or in the update notes.
